This little hemlock dish is made from a branch rescued from a burn pile. We were passing a nearby campsite on our way home after a hike, and my partner noticed the branch sticking out from under a mound of firewood. He couldn't help himself and stole it! Another act of love.
When you get this piece in your hands, spin it around in the light, and look for the shimmer. The ripples under the smooth surface appear to move as you turn it.
Naturally UV-reactive, and shows faint green streaks along the grain under a blacklight.
Not to be confused with Poison Hemlock, a small bush resembling Yarrow, Western Hemlock is a tree, and perfectly safe to handle.
