Smoke Cleansing Sticks
Regular price $10.00
Each bundle is at least 1oz, and contains 8-9 sticks. Length varies from bundle to bundle.
Instead of letting woodworking leftovers go to waste, we've turned them into something special. Each variety we offer has been selected for the unique aromatic scents they release when burned, as well as the spiritual associations of each tree.
They are all hand-harvested by us from dead-and-downed trees or fallen branches. We never kill trees for wood-working or otherwise.
Each piece is oven-dried for maximum smokiness. This helps them light easily and smoke heavily for a few moments. Store them in a dry place, as humidity will affect the burn. Paper bags are wonderful for maintaining humidity and keeping things dry.
Alder - Journeys, confidence, bravery, spiritual growth; Alder smells like walking into a crafts fair, or breathing deeply into a wicker basket. It's almost nostalgic.
Apple - Peace, harmony, love; Don't judge me for this one, but burning applewood smells like bacon. It smells like applewood smoked bacon, billowy cigars and, well... the sweetness of apples.
Big Leaf Maple - intellect, knowledge, communication, beauty, binding, abundance, art; Like the Norway Maple, the scent this gives off when burning smells like the inside of a metaphysical shop, but more earthy, and sweet.
Cottonwood - strengthening spells, healing, prosperity, calming fear; Cottonwood brings a toasty, roasty energy about it. When burning, it produces a warm and comforting scent with earthy undertones, creating an atmosphere that is both cozy and grounding.
Fir - direction, abundance, wholeness; Fir invokes emotions connected to the Winter Solstice, it carries a warm, almost festive fragrance. It transports you to the forest.
Norway Maple - intellect, knowledge, communication, beauty, binding, abundance, art; When burning Norway Maple, it almost smells like walking into a magic shop that someone's cleansed with incense.
Red Maple - intellect, knowledge, communication, beauty, binding, abundance, art; There's nothing more to say about it. When burned, Red Maple smells like a pancakey maple-syrupy breakfast. It's delicious.
Sweet Cherry - grounding, stability, focus; Sweet Cherry, oddly, smells like mulled cider spice. It has a hint of clove, citrus, and cinnamon.
Western Hemlock - protection, purification, grounding, healing, divination, transformation; Western Hemlock smells like a good, clean fireplace. Much like the Fir, it brings about a feeling that connects to the winter season. It's fragrance is warm, woody, and sweet with a touch of citrus.
Western Red Cedar - cleansing, longevity, protection, preservation; When burning, it gives off a particularly interesting smell. Like a pencil box, with notes of licorice. The fragrance is almost like a little journey back to grade school.
